Where will you BEGIN?
Challenges come in many forms, but none could have prepared us for everything a pandemic brings - lockdowns, working from home, home schooling and trying to maintain our health while adhering to restrictions in our community.
It’s been a challenging year for all, but what can we learn from this?
1) We enjoy connection and human interaction
2) We appreciate being active at our local gym or pool
3) We appreciate our teachers and medical staff
With spring just around the corner, here are some ways to begin your fitness and wellness routine just in time for warmer days.
Simple steps done repeatedly become habits, and those habits lead towards healthy changes in all aspects of our lifestyle and wellbeing. Did you know - It only takes 30 days to form a new routine.
So, let’s begin:
HABITS: Exercise at least 30 minutes every day (any type of movement is fine)
START: Begin something new, never tried Yoga or Zumba? Give a group fitness class a go!
WHEN: Set your alarm every night to wake at a reasonable time
YOU: Spend some time being kind to yourself every day. You may take a bath, meditate or do something creative.
DO: Do something nice for others - get active with a friend, encourage others to set new goals or try something new – motivating others will motivate you!
HOW: Set a goal or a small challenge for yourself to work towards. New to exercise? Your goal may be to get active 3 times a week. If fitness is already part of your routine – set yourself a new challenge, run 5kms or increase your workout program.
Remember, habits start when you do - so don’t be afraid to begin.
